Curcumin

It is obtained through an extraction, crystallizing processes from the turmeric root (Curcuma longa L). The product is a brown crystal powder, which has the characters of bright color, strong luster, heat and light resistant, slight inherent aroma of turmeric. It can dissolve in ethanol and alkaline solution, not dissolve in cool water, and slightly dissolve in plant oil. As a yellow food color,it is widely used in pastry, candy, can, carbonated drinks, pickles and other products. Because it has cleaning away heat, invigorating the spleen and stomach, ventilation, coloring and other functions, and possesses high medical using value, it is widely used in pharmaceutical industry. |
